Overview

Reading Tracker is a paid app for recording books and academic papers. The app does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or a developer-operated server for reading log data.

Data Stored by the App

The app stores reading entries that you create, including titles, authors, publisher or journal, ISBN or DOI, rating, tags, summary notes, start dates, and finished dates. This data is stored on your device.

iCloud Sync on iOS

On iOS and iPadOS, Reading Tracker can use the user’s private iCloud database through CloudKit when iCloud is available. The developer does not receive or operate a copy of this data.

Google Drive AppDataFolder Sync on Android

On Android, Reading Tracker can optionally sync a reading-log snapshot to the user’s Google Drive AppDataFolder. This uses the Google Drive app data scope and is intended only for app backup and sync. The developer does not receive this file.

CSV Import and Export

CSV export creates a file only when you choose to export it. CSV import reads a file only when you choose one through the system file picker.

External Links

If an entry contains a DOI, the app may open https://doi.org/ in your browser when you tap Open Paper. Browser activity is handled by the browser and website you open.

Data Deletion

You can delete individual entries, delete all local entries, and remove the optional Android Google Drive AppDataFolder sync snapshot from the app settings. iCloud data can also be managed through Apple’s iCloud controls.
