Time Detective Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 20, 2026
Time Detective (the “App”) is a one-time-purchase educational app that helps children from preschool through the early primary grades learn duration and clock skills. The developer is YUTA WATANABE.
1. Advertising, analytics, and developer accounts
The App has no third-party advertising, behavioral tracking, advertising identifiers, third-party analytics SDK, or developer-managed user account. The developer does not sell App data or use it for advertising.
2. Information handled by the App
Users may optionally save learner nicknames, learning history, skill progress, App settings, everyday activity cards, and images attached to those cards. Do not enter a full name, school, birth date, or other identifying information as a nickname. This information is normally stored only on the device.
Optional read-aloud uses the device’s system text-to-speech service to speak text already displayed by the App. The App does not request microphone access, record audio, or capture, store, or transmit a child’s voice. The installed system voice or text-to-speech provider and its settings are controlled by the device owner and may be subject to that provider’s policy. Optional haptic feedback uses local device vibration and does not collect data.
3. Photos
When an image is added, the App uses the operating system’s photo picker and receives only the image selected by the user. It does not request access to browse the full photo library. The selected image is orientation-corrected, compressed, and saved without EXIF metadata such as location information.
4. Optional cloud backup
The App does not start its own in-app cloud backup automatically. A private App backup is sent only when the user explicitly selects “Back up now” in Settings: to the user’s private iCloud area on iOS, or to the App’s private Google Drive area on Android. Encrypted transport is used. Restore and cloud-backup deletion also require an explicit user action. The developer does not receive, view, or use the contents of these private areas. Separately, Apple may include local App data in an operating-system-managed device backup or transfer according to the device owner’s Apple and OS settings. The Android App disables operating-system-managed cloud backup of its App data. Operating-system backup and transfer services are controlled by their providers under their own policies.
5. Export and import
Users can export learning data as JSON, CSV, or ZIP and choose where to share or save it. An exported file is then governed by the selected destination’s terms and data practices. Before importing, the App presents the contents and number of planned changes; replacement requires an additional confirmation.
6. Deletion and retention
Profiles and related local data can be deleted in the App. Deleting the App normally removes local data, but a user-created cloud backup or exported file may remain. Delete the cloud backup separately in Settings. To prevent deleted data from returning during a conflicting restore, deletion records (“tombstones”) may remain locally or in a backup for up to 30 days.
7. Security
The App uses the operating system’s application storage, private cloud areas, and size, format, path, and checksum validation for imported files. No electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
8. Information handled by the operating system or store
Apple, Google, the device operating system, or the relevant store may handle purchase, payment, download, or store/OS crash-diagnostic information under their own policies. The developer does not collect payment-card details inside the App.
9. Children’s privacy
The App should be used under the supervision of a parent, guardian, or educator. It does not ask a child to provide a name, contact information, or location. If personal information is entered unintentionally, delete it from the device and any backup.
10. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated as features or legal requirements change. Material changes will be described on this page and the effective date will be updated. Contact: yuta.watanabe@mnbmate.com
